Stemming from the mission title, there are a number of names referencing classical mythology. But what are they, and to what do they refer?

o ARGOS
ARGOS (Attitude Reckoning from Ground Observable Signals) processes the modulation of the spacecraft radio-signal, providing real-time estimates of several flight dynamics parameters.

In Greek mythology Argos is a hundred-eyed, ever-vigilant giant, a servant of Hera. Upon his death, Hera decorated the peacock's tail with 100 eyes in Argos' memory. Conveniently Argos is also the name of Ulysses' faithful dog, as described in "The Odyssey".

o PHAEACIAN
PHAEACIAN (Program Handling Argos Estimates And Calculating Intelligent Actions for nutation) is a fuzzy logic tool designed to help the Flight Control Team identify the most effective options for nutation control.
o And of course... ORACLE
A mildly specious entry, serving solely as a title for this page, and only tenuously linked to the Ulysses myth. (Cadmus, one of Ulysses' companions, is described as visiting the Oracle at Delphi). That being so, an oracle can be described as "...a person or agency considered to be a source of wise counsel... an infallible authority..." (ref. wikipedia.org) so perhaps it should be allowed after all.
